MOVEMENTS (2012 — 2016)

In this body of work titled Movements, I explore and portray simplified and abstracted figurative movements, capturing the complex aspects of personality, mood, and the vibrancy of human gesture. Each piece becomes its own visual account of poetic movement. Bodies in motion are deconstructed to reveal minimal forms interacting and interweaving. These figures are stripped of all identifying markers allowing the composition, color combinations and mark-making gestures to describe narratives that are both active and reactive. These vignettes reveal fundamental communications and temperaments found within familiar relationships.
